Marina was a Nutrition major, Dietetics option, at Rutgers University. She graduated in May 2012 and is currently attending a Dietetic Internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating from her Dietetic Internship, Marina plans to become a Registered Dietician and gain work experience, as well as a masters degree, as a Clinical Dietitian.
Marina has had numerous experiences in the field of nutrition. She was the President of KON (National Nutrition Honors Society), a member of the Rutgers Nutrition Club, has worked in Dr. Sue Shapses’s Osteoporosis and Obesity Lab, and was a volunteer at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. Marina has also taken park in many research opportunities here on campus. She did research at CREN (Centro de Recuperacao e Educacao Nutricional) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at the Rutgers microbiology lab, and was a Rutgers SEBS George H. Cook scholar.
Being a member of HDT for two years has left Marina with many wonderful memories. She describes HDT as a “lifesaver” due to its amazing team members and inspirational leader. They are the best support system a girl could ask for!
