Andrea Ficarra is a senior at Rutgers University majoring in Nutritional Sciences, Dietetics and minoring in Psychology. She is graduating in May 2013, and after graduation she hopes to obtain a Dietetic Internship. After completion of the internship, she hopes to obtain her Master’s Degree.
After deciding on dietetics as her major, Andrea has had numerous types of nutrition related experience. She has been a member of the Healthy Dining Team for 4 years as well as a member of KON, Kappa Omicron Nu, the nutritional sciences honors society. She is an active member within the Rutgers Nutrition Club, the Nutritional Sciences Preschool, a volunteer at St. Peters University Hospital, and also a volunteer with the Registered Dietitian of the Shoprite in Little Falls.
Andrea describes HDT as a family and she loves the constant learning experience HDT provides for her. She feels as though she has increased her knowledge of nutrition and dietetics exponentially through the creation of nutrition education programs, conducting research, and interacting with other dietetics majors and RDs.
FUN FACT: She is so clumsy! Not a day passes by where she hasn’t tripped over something, walked into something, or fallen flat on her face.
